Privacy and analytics
Updated 1 November 2026. This notice describes how leesiangfong.com, Scott Lee Siang Fong's personal website and 404 Not Scott blog, uses information when you visit or send a message.
Website hosting and security
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. Requests include technical information such as your IP address, browser details and requested URL. Cloudflare processes request information to deliver pages and protect its services. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Visitor measurement
The site uses Google Analytics to measure page views, visits, traffic sources, device information and approximate location. Google Analytics uses browser identifiers and may store cookies. This implementation disables Google Signals and advertising personalization; it does not send names, guestbook text or phone messages as custom analytics fields. See Google's privacy policy and Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page loading and browsing activity with its beacon. Its measurement does not use tracking cookies. Read about Cloudflare Web Analytics.
The desk's visitor map separately keeps running country totals and, for Malaysian visits, state totals. The application does not store individual IP addresses in those totals. Brief rate-limit records use an IP address to limit repeated submissions and expire after two minutes. The playful hit counter is not an audited count of people.
Visitor messages and moderation
If you post to the guestbook, your chosen name, message and posting time are stored. Recent entries are publicly visible. Do not post private or sensitive information there.
If you leave a message using the desk phone, your entered name, contact details, message and submission time are stored so Scott can read and respond. Submitted postcards, guestbook entries and phone messages are screened by Cloudflare Workers AI for spam, explicit sexual content, hate and abuse before acceptance. Guestbook entries are public only after screening or owner approval. Submitted postcards and phone messages are private to Scott in the protected admin inbox. AI failures and uncertain classifications are held for review. Blocked message bodies are discarded; decision metadata is retained in the moderation log. Browser-only postcard drafts are not sent until you choose Send to Scott. These application records do not have a fixed automatic deletion schedule; you can request removal using the contact route below.
Browser preferences
The interactive desk uses local browser storage for settings such as language, desk/plain mode and interface preferences. Session storage helps the desk remember a visit during the browser session. Clearing site data in your browser removes stored browser preferences and cookies.
External services and links
Fonts are requested from Google Fonts. The weather feature requests a forecast for Kuala Lumpur from Open-Meteo; it does not ask for your device's precise location. If you use the radio feature, your browser contacts radio directory and stream providers. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.
Contact and requests
For questions about this notice or a request concerning a message you submitted, contact Scott. Include enough context to locate the relevant entry, and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
